Last year, an outdoor equipment supplier approached us. They were developing a new type of portable outdoor stove, and the core metal structure shell needed to be completed within one month. However, the delivery time provided by their original partner was 10 weeks.

Within 2 hours, a complete DFM review report, along with optimization suggestions, was sent back to the client:

  • It was suggested to change the material of several parts from 304 stainless steel to 5052 aluminum alloy, without affecting strength, and to reduce the unit cost by 18%.
  • It was also suggested to adjust the bending radius at a specific point to mitigate potential stress cracking.

The client confirmed the optimization plan on the same day – the design review process that originally might have required 3-5 days of back-and-forth communication was completed within 24 hours in a closed loop.

3.2 Multi-process Collaboration: Flexible Production Scheduling

  • Once a batch of parts is laser-cut, it is immediately transferred to the bending station;
  • At the same time as the bending process is completed, the Stamping process simultaneously starts on another batch of parts;
