Metal Fabrication Case Study: Real Projects, Real Data

A metal fabrication case study proves more than a capability list. Spec sheets state what a factory can do. Cases state what it actually delivered. We have produced 70,000+ different types of custom metal parts. This page shows real projects with materials, dimensions, tolerances and outcomes.

What Makes a Case Verifiable

A case is verifiable when it names the part, the material, the key specs and the outcome. Our cases follow that format below. The three cases cover different materials and process chains.

Case One: Portable Insulated Cabinet (Hotel Kitchen)

A hotel kitchen needed a portable insulated cabinet with a moving door.

Requirements:

  • Door load capacity of at least 120 kg.
  • Insulation holding for more than 8 hours.
  • 50+ high-frequency door openings daily without seal loss.

Our solution:

  • Main frame: 6061 aluminum profiles, self-weight 23 kg.
  • Load points reinforced with 304 stainless steel, rated 150 kg.
  • Door: 304 stainless panel + 50 mm PU insulation + back panel.
  • Sealing silicone strips on the clamp inner side.
  • All components assembled on dedicated tooling fixtures.
  • Heavy-duty casters and stainless spring pin locks.

Result: the delivered cabinet passed the load and insulation checks. It is now in long-term bulk supply with the customer.

Process Chain Behind Case One

Step Operation Control point
1 Profile and panel cutting Length tolerance per drawing
2 304 stainless reinforcement forming Bend angle and fit-up
3 Door panel lamination 50 mm PU layer, sealing edge
4 Tooling-fixture assembly Caster and lock alignment
5 Functional check Load test, insulation hold, door cycles

Each control point has a written check record before the cabinet leaves the factory.

Case Two: Precision Storage Box with Lid

  • Box body: 15 x 11 x 7 cm.
  • Material: SPCC cold-rolled steel.
  • Lid and body fit controlled to ±0.1 mm.
  • Surface treatment chosen for drop and wear resistance.

Cut, bent and assembled with dedicated tooling. Result: tight lid closure with a smooth open-close feel, as specified.

Case Three: Circular Clamp Bracket

  • Part: circular clamp bracket for cylindrical equipment.
  • Applications: warning lights, fan cylinders, pipes, burners, instruments.
  • Material: carbon steel.
  • Process: the ring is made integral by sheet metal bending.

Result: integral ring geometry with no assembly seam at the clamp line.

Scale Behind the Cases

  • 70,000+ different types of custom metal parts produced.
  • 3,000+ metal box and shell solutions delivered.
  • 120 staff, including 19 engineers.
  • 40+ presses from 60T to 400T.
  • 6 kW fiber laser cutting.

Requesting Case Data

To get a matching reference case, send three items:

  • Your industry and the part’s function.
  • Material or grade, if already chosen.
  • A drawing, photo or dimension sketch.

We reply with the closest case, its data and a fit assessment. Response target is one business day. Complex parts may need a short video call.

From Case to Volume

Moving a case from pilot to volume follows five steps:

  • RFQ review with material and tolerance confirmation.
  • DFM check on the drawing or sample.
  • Pilot run with a dimension report.
  • CMM verification for critical features.
  • Volume release with per-batch certificates.

Each step closes with a written record before the next one starts.

FAQ

Do you have cases in my industry?

Send your industry and part type. We match a reference case and share the relevant data.

Can I get full drawings of a case?

Case drawings are customer IP and stay private. We share specs and photos with permission.

How do cases affect my quote?

Similar geometry and material reuse known process data. Quotes come back faster and firmer.

Can we start with a pilot order?

Yes. A pilot run validates the spec before volume production.

Do the numbers on this page change over time?

Counts like 70,000+ part types are updated as the portfolio grows. Case specs stay fixed.

Where can I see the factory?

Our factory display and equipment pages carry the current records. A video call tour is available.

How fast is a pilot?

A pilot follows the quotation. Free samples apply to qualified projects.

Can you improve my drawing before quoting?

Yes. The DFM check covers fixable issues before pricing.
