How to Solve Issues in the Manufacturing of Stainless Steel Parts?
The manufacturing of stainless steel parts begins with a profound understanding of the material itself.
Stainless steel is an iron-based alloy with a chromium content of no less than 10.5% (by weight). Chromium reacts with oxygen, forming a several-nanometer-thick oxide film on the surface of the steel. This effectively prevents corrosive external media from penetrating.
Moreover, this oxide film has self-healing properties – even if the material surface is cut or damaged, it can automatically repair itself.

For this reason, stainless steel possesses outstanding corrosion resistance, high strength and durability, excellent processing performance, and a beautiful, durable surface texture. It is widely used in various fields, including kitchenware, medical equipment, automotive manufacturing, aerospace, etc.Stainless steel’s severe work hardening, low conductivity, high expansion & high cutting forces require stricter equipment, process & QC standards than ordinary carbon steel.
💡Our 26 years of expertise address these issues.
One: Manufacturing Strength
— Hardware Specifically Tailored for Stainless Steel Applications.
Stainless steel’s high hardness and strength demand processing equipment with greater tonnage, higher rigidity and better heat dissipation. Our full equipment lineup is purpose-built for stainless steel’s unique properties.
| Equipment type | Configuration | Exclusive significance for stainless steel |
|---|---|---|
| Press machine | 80-400t * 38 sets | Stainless steel has higher strength than ordinary carbon steel, requiring greater tonnage to overcome springback and work hardening. |
| Laser cutting machine | 2 sets of 6kw | Stainless steel’s high reflectivity & good thermal conductivity demand 6kW power for stable medium-thick plate cutting with no surface blackening. |
| CNC machining center | Five-axis 2 units + vertical 3 units | High heat output, high-torque spindle & rigid fixture: core stainless steel cutting tool features for difficult-to-machine materials. |
| Bending machine | 3 sets | Angle compensation system | Preset correction values | Stainless steel elastic deformation adaptation |
| Spectrometer | 1 unit | Numerous stainless steel grades: 1% composition difference leads to major corrosion resistance gaps; strict material compliance verification required. |
In addition, we also have a complete set of production equipment and a full range of testing equipment. For example, each piece of equipment is selected in response to specific challenges in stainless steel processing.

2.1 Sheet Metal Fabrication
🔹Laser cutting: Utilize anti-reflection lenses and high-pressure nitrogen gas for auxiliary cutting. Ensure the cutting surface is smooth without burrs or discoloration. Adjust parameters such as laser power, gas flow rate, and cutting speed precisely based on the material and thickness.
🔹Metal bending: Our bending machines are equipped with an angle compensation system. The rebound correction value for each specific material is preset, and the rebound is precisely controlled by adjusting the PUNCH stroke.
🔹Welding: Strictly control the interlayer temperature and welding speed. Select dedicated welding wires and combine with assembly techniques to minimize cold work deformation as much as possible and avoid scratches caused by forced assembly.
🔹Stamping: Our stamping machines, through attention to mold structure, mold materials, heat treatment, and lubrication, effectively enhance part quality and mold lifespan.
🔹Deep Stamping: Utilizing multi-level lubrication and a stepped mold-gap design, along with specialized stretching oil, friction resistance is reduced by over 30%. The pressing speed is strictly controlled to prevent cracks caused by high-speed impacts.
2.2 Metal Casting
Meet the one-time forming requirements for complex-shaped stainless steel parts. Especially suitable for those irregular structural components that are difficult to achieve through stamping or mechanical processing.
2.3 CNC Machining
Stainless steel has high toughness, high cutting heat, poor thermal conductivity, and severe work hardening, which lead to rapid tool wear, high cutting temperatures, and difficulty breaking chips.
We use carbide tools and reasonable tool geometric angles, combined with adequate cooling and lubrication, to effectively address the “stickiness” and “heat generation” problems of stainless steel.
2.4 Surface Finishing

pickling-and-passivation
The “stainless” property of stainless steel relies on the protective film on its surface. However, welding, heat treatment, or mechanical processing can damage this protective layer.
Our surface treatment production line specializes in providing acid pickling and passivation services: through acid pickling, defects and contaminants on the surface of stainless steel parts are removed; then, passivation treatment is carried out to regenerate a uniform and dense chromium-rich oxide film on the surface.
In addition, we offer various surface treatment options, such as sandblasting, polishing, and wire drawing, to meet the needs of different application scenarios.
Tree: Quality Control
——Guarding the “Corrosion Resistance Lifeline” of Stainless Steel
Our testing system is fully focused on safeguarding the corrosion resistance of stainless steel parts:
– Spectrometer: Essential item – Cr, Ni, Mo. Chromium directly determines the corrosion resistance of the parts.
– Hardness tester: Monitors the degree of work hardening.
– Surface roughness tester: Strictly controls the Ra value to ensure that the passivation film can completely and uniformly cover the surface of the parts.
– Coordinate measuring machine: Conducts precise measurements in the constant-temperature workshop to ensure that the dimensional accuracy is not affected by temperature.
– Complete set of basic measurement tools: Covers the entire process from cutting to finished products for size monitoring.
From design optimization to fabrication and quality inspection, the entire process capability of our “Manufacturing of stainless steel parts” is built upon a profound understanding of every characteristic of stainless steel.
