Three Stainless Steel Fabrication Case Studies

Case 1 — Deep-Drawn Stainless Steel Housing

A customer needed a deep-drawn housing with a domed top. The cylinder had to keep an even wall through the draw. A large side hole had to align with the internal assembly.

We ran a multi-stage deep drawing process. The dome and cylinder formed in three progressive steps. Side and center holes were pierced in dedicated dies. A flared collar formed around the center hole. Brushed 304 stainless steel gave the required finish.

Results: 25,000 units shipped in 3 weeks. Rejection rate stayed under 0.7%. The customer placed three repeat orders.

Case 2 — Stamped Stainless Steel Mounting Flange

An equipment maker needed a mounting flange with a raised center. The drawn dome had to keep an even wall thickness. Three countersunk holes had to match a fixed pattern.

We combined stamping and drawing in one tool set. The blank was stamped from 304 stainless steel sheet. A drawn dome formed the raised center section. Countersunk holes were pierced and coined in the same die. A rectangular notch was formed exactly to the drawing.

Results: 60,000 units shipped in 4 weeks. Yield stayed above 99% on all lots. The customer reorders every quarter.

Case 3 — High-Volume Stainless Steel Spring Clips

An outdoor gear maker needed spring clips for strap mounting. Each clip had to keep its spring tension after bending. Hole positions had to match a fixed mounting pattern.

Progressive dies cut and formed each clip in one pass. The 180-degree fold created consistent spring-back. Punched holes held exact spacing on every part. In-house QC checked tension and dimensions on every lot.

Results: 150,000 clips delivered in 10 weeks. Zero returns reported in 18 months. Monthly reorders continue today.
