OEM Metal Parts Fabrication: How Many Steps From Drawing to Finished Parts?

OEM metal parts fabrication may seem simple, but it actually involves a systematic manufacturing process with multiple stages. Any deviation in any of these stages can affect the outcome – this is not only related to precision, but also to delivery time, cost, and customer trust.

We are a metal parts customization service provider founded in 1999, with over 9,000 square meters of workshop space and ISO 9001:2015 certification.

We have broken this complex process down into seven clear steps:

Step 1: Drawing Review & Manufacturability Analysis

Our engineering team conducts a comprehensive production analysis to assess the design’s manufacturability.They evaluate whether the structure, tolerances, and key dimensions can be reliably achieved in production.

Our advantages

We have 19 experienced engineers with over 20 years of professional experience.

They can accurately identify potential conflicts between design and manufacturing and prevent rework risks in advance.

From drawings, materials, manufacturing processes to surface treatment, they offer free project design optimization services and provide comprehensive improvement suggestions;Ensure that the design solution is not only “feasible”, but also “easy to implement, cost-effective and quick to complete”.

Step 2: Material Selection and Process Planning

After the drawings are confirmed, we simultaneously complete material selection and overall process path planning. Different materials directly affect the product performance and cost structure.

Our advantages

– Engineers scientifically assess the suitability of materials based on application conditions, mechanical requirements, and processing characteristics;
– Equipped with detection equipment such as spectrometers to verify the material composition accurately;
– Covering the entire manufacturing process chain including sheet metal fabrication, metal casting, CNC processing, and surface treatment, to achieve one-stop manufacturing.

Step 3: Sample Production and Verification

Before mass production, the sample is crucial for physical verification. Also, it serves as a “preview” of the mass production process.

Our advantages

– We have dedicated sample and small-batch production lines, with prompt response;
– We offer free sample services, allowing customers to verify the matching degree of design and process at no cost;
– Only after the samples pass the verification will we start the mass production, thereby reducing project risks from the very beginning.

Step 4: Mold Development

The quality of the mold directly affects the precision and consistency of the parts, and the cost efficiency of mass production. We are well aware of this and have therefore invested a great deal of experience and resources in mold development.

Our workshop showcases the actual molds that have successfully produced parts for customers across various industries.

Step 5: Mass production and stable delivery

After entering the mass production stage, the core challenge for OEM metal parts fabrication shifts from “can it be done” to “can it be done in a stable and large-scale manner”.

Our advantages

– Monthly output exceeds 500,000 units, having customized over 70,000 different types of parts for 3,000+ enterprises worldwide;
– The equipment covers the entire process, including laser cutting, bending, stamping, five-axis CNC, automatic spot welding, and laser marking;🔧Click to view our actual photos of the equipment.→
– Over 120 employees work collaboratively to ensure precise execution of each process and controllable delivery time.

Step 6: Surface treatment and finishing

The formed parts undergo surface treatment to enhance their corrosion resistance, wear resistance, or appearance quality.

– 2 production lines for surface treatment, capable of supporting various processes such as electroplating, spraying, and anodizing;
– All processes are completed in one place within the workshop, reducing outsourcing steps, shortening delivery time, and strengthening quality control

Step 7: Quality inspection and delivery

Before the finished products are shipped out, they must undergo rigorous inspections for dimensions, appearance, hardness, and form tolerance.

Our quality assurance system:

🔹Equipped with 2 sets of CMM, spectrometer, surface roughness tester, hardness tester, and a complete set of basic measuring tools;
🔹Strictly implements the ISO 9001:2015 quality management system throughout the entire process;
🔹The business team provides full support throughout the process:

  • Pre-sale – Thoroughly understand the requirements
  • During-sale – Closely monitor the progress to ensure the delivery date
  • After-sale – Timely follow up on feedback and resolve any remaining concerns
